Hello Everyone,

My I-485 has been approved. Here are the details.

EB2, VSC (Substitued Labor)
LC PD - Oct 2001
I-140/I-485 filed cuncurrently - Sept 2005
FP - Oct 2005
EAD - Nov 2005
I-140 - RFE - Jan 2006, Replied Jan 2006
I-140 Approved - Feb 2006
I-485 - LUD's - 11/9/2005 (FP Results), 3/22/2006, 3/30/2006 (RFE), 4/16/2006 (RFE Results Recd), 4/18/2006, 4/20/2006, 4/22/2006, 5/01/2006
I-485 Approved - 5/23/2006
CO - 5/24/2006

Also, I did not apply for AP since i still have a valid H1 stamping
 
Thanks..Also, If it helps anyone, I called VSC 2-3 times to enquire about the NC status.. they said that my NC took about 1.5 months to clear and the lady was helpful.. She also told me that thats the average time they are taking to clear NC.

But again, i guess it is always on a case by case basis.. some are lucky, some are not as lucky i guess, esp with VSC

I have a question about the message after the RFE. I got a RFE about W2 EVL and Tax. After the VSC got my response of RFE for 485, the message became:

On May 11, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 365 and 540 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.

I'm wondering whether you got the same message after the response of RFE had been received. If it is different from each person, does it indicate that my Name Check is laready clear (I hope)?

I received the same message when I replied to 485 RFE in December 2004. As of December 2005 my background check still was not completed. Not sure if they didn't do anything because my PD was retrogressed from June 2005 to June 2006. As soon as it becomes current I will cal VSC.



I'm wondering whether you got the same message after the response of RFE had been received. If it is different from each person, does it indicate that my Name Check is laready clear (I hope)?

Yes, I recd. the same message after i responded to my 485 RFE. When i called VSC to check the status, the lady told me that normally the case will get approved within 45- 60 days of VSC receveing your response, provided your NC and all background checks are complete. So hopefully your case will be approved by Mid June. Good Luck
