Hello all,

Just want you to know that I received my approval from the BCIS this weekend.

Here is the timeline:

Asylum Approval Date 2/18/1998
I-485 receipt date: 4/14/99
FP done 10/21/03
RFE Requested 1/5/04
RFE submitted 2/23/04
approval letter received 3/6/04

As info, the RFE was just a request for an I-602 waiver.

And yes, taking the lesson of many people here, I paid a lawyer $800 to file the darn waiver. It was obviously well-prepared and money well-spent.

COngratulations my friend. you should get your green card in 4 months. at least that's how long it took my friend to get his.

good luck for the rest of the journey. and please post your time line for plastic card once you receive it.

People just need to be patient. Your turn will come and it should be a relatively smooth process.

Congratulations for your success. Usingn a immigration lawer is always a good idea . BTW you have got a deal. $800 is much less for what I-602 cost on the West Cost. Prices are from $1,000 to $1,500 for such waiver.

I paid $ 1500 for RFE (I-602) and I live in Chicago suburbz.... I am glad that it was finally approved and it is behind me...

Yes, $800 was a good deal.

Again for the I-602 form legal representation is strongly recommended.

Still waiting for the plastic card.. Went for stamping in second week of November last year...

Search old messages. It has been talked about a lot.

Chances are quite good that you too will receive one.
 
RAsylee, my friend was stamped in september, he just got his plastic GC a couple of weeks ago.
