I-485 approved !! Question about PP stamping

Hi,
My I-485 was approved last week. Got the letter this week.
One interesting thing that happened was I did not get the email from the system like I usually do.
When I checked the case status online it said that the case status could not be found in the system. Anyone has any clues why this happened.

This was from the Nebraskka service center.

Questions that I had.

I will be travelling to India on the 7th of next month. That is 10 days away.
I dont think I will be able to get the plastic card before that.
So can i travel back from India on my present H1-B ??

Also what is the process of getting a passport stamped at Charlotte??

You can not travel on H1 since is not nullified. also your ap's are not valid either. get an infopass at your local office, take your ticket with you and get stamped.
 
Congrats! Get your PP stamped before leaving. Are you EB1/2/3? whats your PD? RD/ND date for your 140/485 ?

you better stampp your passport. It fairly simple here in Charlotte, Take an apt. try for apointment at 6.PM. you have better chance of geting.
 
I explained that I have to travel and they stamped the passport without asking any more questions. I also brought a letter from the company to prove that it was my employer who needed me to travel, but they didn't even ask to see it.

You are right.. did they take your EAD/AP etc.. ??

In my case they took EAD/AP/ Pictures, signature and fingerprinting of index finger. stampped my passport which is valid for one yr for work and travel.

how ever in case of my wife they only stampped with out rest of stuffs ( like signature, picture, EAD/AP..)..

Both were done in diffrent dates with diffrent person at counter with same District office. Both of us have the approval notice saying to wait for 60 days before Biometric or Card.

So I guess I will expect my Card where as for my wife case I will get biometric information where she will give her pic/Ead/Ap etc..

Am I right ?

My dates are as follows:

Labor: Pre-Approved PD 11 Aug 2002
I485/I140 concurrent RD 25 May 2004
I140 Approval April 14, 2005
485 RFE around 25 May 2005 (problem with mdeical papers)
I485 17th June 2005
1EAD 08/02/2004
2EAD 05/27/2005
Wife 1st AP 10/28/2004

Whole process took about 13 Months.

Question: tilu writes get Appointment for "6PM" is that PM or AM ??

Also some friend of mine mentioned that charlotte office donot entertain walkins easily. What have been your experience ?

I have tried my best to get an appointment using the Infopass system. In fact I have written a program which will poll the site for availibilty every 20 secs and send message to my cell phone if something is available.. Till now nothing.
Can someone give me the number to the Charlotte office so that I can speak to someone and try to get an appointmemnt.

Also what is best time to go to the Charlotte office for a walkin. I live 2.5 hrs away.

That 's true . Charlotte office doesnt like walk ins. Even they are expecting one apt for one case . in other words if your family have couple of approval( say one for your wife and one for you) then you need two diffrent appointment.

Generaly the site where we supposed to take apt is always say not available or no information avaliable.

Try to get into this site at arround 6.P.M . You have fair chances of getting apt. Again this 6.pm is not the apt time. This time generaly the site is availble for allowing ppl to take apt. you have any question you may mail me at pcnayak@yahoo.com.
 
They didn't take my EAD, AP, etc. Just my I-94 and I was told that I'll either receive my card soon or a notice for biometrics.

Please note that this was not in Charlotte. I was just talking about being able to get a stamp now that it is not needed to receive the card.
