Approval for me & my spouse with following details:

PD=Apr30/98; RD=Jul20/99;ND=Aug05/99;FP=AprXX/00:AD=Sep27/00
Category:EB2(RIR) - non-US M.S.(CS) : Country:India
EAD - Twice (both at Vermont): No RFE
Never talked to IIO directly (though tried calling up many-a-times)
Area : Wash D.C. (Baltimore, INS)
Came to know of approval from INS automated Msg System today - waiting written stuff

Feeling not worth this approval - especially when so many people - much more deserving than me - are still in this painful wait. Quite depressing -this feeling of leaving the ship. Thanks to everyone who contributes to this message board - and never give up. At least you have the satisfaction of trying your utmost!

KM, When did you do your FP? My details are: PD 01/98;RD 7/26/99;ND 8/6/99;FP:7/25/00; and EAC-99-234-..... Based on the current approvals, it seems the FP date is also important and it seems the INS keeps the FP results on the shelf (talked to an IIO yesterday, after seeing approvals in our date range) for some time (before they assign the case to an officer). My case hasn\'t been assinged to an officer yet. Did you talk to the INS recently? If you did, could you please post the details? Thanks

I was wondering how come your EAC is same as mine when dates a day apart.Anyways thanks for clearing that up.

Getting back to my FP date ,I did it on 06/10/00, I think in one of my earlier posts I probably mentioned it as 06/12... which is wrong.

I will post if I hear anything on my case, Thanks.

My case is EAC-99-259-52xxx. The 259th day of 1999
is Sep 16. But the ND on my 485 receipt is Sep 8.

The middle 3-digit Julian day is NOT the ND day.

My EAC number is so close to your number, does PD have to be current ??? to get processed. FP done 2 months ago Please advise

Looks like Finger Print date also matters in approving the case. All my dates are older than yours except FP.

According to my understanding, VSC processes an i485 if

1) Visa number is available (comparing your PD with DOS
Visa Bulletin Board) and

2) VSC processing time of i485 (8/1/99, officially). If
your i485 ND is earlier than 8/1/99, VSC may process
your application now.

I called an IIO a week ago, she told me VSC had been
stucking on 8/1/99 for quite a while. I asked her how
many application were received in Aug/Sep of 1999 and
she did not know.

Around one month ago, another IIO told me they were
working hard to shorten the processing time of i485
to 12-14 months from 14-16 months.

God knows how hard it is to process a case, it is
pattern matching kind of work. VSC was pretty fast in
the past and other processing centers were not happy
with that and now every center is slow.
