I-485 Approved. Needs to get spouse

Dear Gurus,
Please advise.

My I-485 just got approved. But i have not yet received the approval notice. I am still holding my H1B on my Passport. Will it be possible to go to India, get married and get my spouse on H4 Visa and then go for stamping for my GC. Will there be any complications. I mean does the INS has any restrictions as to whether i can get my spouse or not on H4 after the I-485 Approval and before i get my passport stamped.

Moreove is there a specific timeframe to get the passport stamped after receiving the approval notice from INS.

I would appreciate your help on this.

Thanks

Is there any workaround

Thanks Joef,
Well i heard from one my friends that i can go to India, Get married and take my spouse to the local Consular Office and they will issue her an Advance Parole to travel to US and will file her case in India itself.

Is it true?? Can i do that or it is only for the Consular Processing cases.

Please advise.

Thanks

My wife is in USA on H4 and I got approval notice before her paperwork reaches at INS office. I have not appeared for stamping. I am waiting for the receipt notices.

Can anybody throw soe light on the above situation?

Hi Jharkhandi

Thank you very much for your quick response. My situation is little different. I have my wife in USA. She entered on H4 visa. Does this make any sense?

Thanks

Correct me if I am wrong:

She came to USA on H4 when you were on H1 visa. You got approval for your 485, before her papers reached USCIS.

If that be the case then:
Now since your 485 is approved you cannot add her as derived beneficiary. However talk to your lawyer, if you sent her papers to USCIS, before getting your approval, you may still get her GC(argumentative but rational). If you do not do so, then practically you are in same situation as skbus2002. Hope it helps.

You guys are right. Thank You very much for your reponses.

My attorney had already filed the papers and he had explained the laws and situation in the covering letter. He told me to wait (for passport stamping) till I receive the receipt notices for her paper work.

I didn't ask my attorney but I would like to ask you guys that "is there any time frame in which I have to go for the passport stamping? "

Can you please tell me that do I need to inform my employer and HR department that I have received the Green Card?? Is it necessary to inform the employer for payroll purpose or any legal/other purpose??

Thanks
