Heard on AVM that case approved on Feb. 22
TSC, EB2 NIW self-petitioned, country: other
RD 12/99, ND 1/00
FP1 3/00
FP2 1/02
2 EADs, 1AP
Called IIO couple of times verifying the results of FP1 and regarding the delay
in receving EAD cards.
Moved to Midwest, sent a letter to TSC (the style described on their website)
informing about the change of address. Called IIO after some time and verified
the change of address (it was changed).
2nd EAD was ~ 1 week overdue after 90 days from RD
and local INS office refused to issue interim card because the card was in the
mail. They promised to help somehow if I would not get it in a couple of weeks.
I got the card in a couple of days and it was in the mail for about 2 weeks.
In the begining of Dec. 01 called IIO and requested fingerprint redo notice.
Received the notice 2 weeks after the call.
Did 2nd fingerprinting in the begining of Jan. 02. Approximately 6 weeks after
this the case was approved.
I did the whole process by myself without an attorney. This site provided usefull
information regarding the whole procedure.

Good luck to everyone!

Congratulations first. One question: I presumed you moved to midwest because you changed your job. Did TSC issue an RFE requesting evidence that you are still working in NIW field? I am asking this because I am also an NIW and is living in CA now.

Yes, I changed my job in the process and it is in the same field.
I included in the change of address letter my new job title and place
of employment (a University). I have not heard, however, that TSC
questions working in NIW field in I-485 stage.

Congrats!!!

If I may ask, how did you decide on going the NIW route. I ve completed the process and I did it on my own with the help of this forum and some friends who had been through it earlier. I was considering going the NIW route and finally decided on going with the OR/T route since I was told that it was safer. Hence, I wanted to just check.

Congrats again.

I was a postdoc at a University at the time I started GC process (6/99).
A friend of mine went throught NIW couple of years before that time
when he was a grad student (of course that was easier before Aug. 98).
NIW seemed to be a logical and relatively simple way to go and I decided
to take my chances, I did not qualify for EB1 at that time. The I-140 stage
was not easy, I got a 4-point RFE. I obtained 2 more references and wrote
a long reply on RFE addressing each question separately, after which the
petition was approved in a week.

Thanks

For some reason in my mind the NIW was above the EB1 in the pecking order. However, I see your point. Had not quite thought of that.

Thanks again.
