Guys,

Do any of you know a case where the I-485 was approved while the I-140 is still pending? I received my I-485 approval notice a week ago and the online inquiry also says that it is already approved. However, the online inquiry still says that my I-140 is pending.

Sometimes the online status is not always up-to-date. Dont worry about it. It is probably approved, but the status is not updated. Good Luck ... There are a few people out there who actually have already received the I-485 approval notice but their status still shows as after the Finger Printing.

I am assuming that my I-140 is also approved but my lawyer said that he haven't receive anything. Anyway, I will still go on with my passport stamping and see what happens.

please post your details

Hi

Could you please post your postings? In my case both I-140 and
I-485 got approved within a span of 55 days. In fact my EAD & AP
also got approved within the same period.

My details :
RD Approval
I-140 - Feb 22 2002 - Jan 20 2004
I-485 - Sep 26 2002 - Mar 15 2004
FP Nov 18 2003
EAD Sep 27 2003 Jan 23 2004
AP Sep 27 2003 Feb 13 2004
-------------------------------------------------

Within 4 months time everything was done and approved.

Why I am posting my details is that I am of the opinion that
I-485 approval is based on I-140 RD date.

Please post your details.

Thanks

All that matters is the 485 approval. If you have the notice in hand- nothing else matters.
So good luck and have fun.

Here are the details:

RD: I-140 & I-485 (concurrent EB3) : 10/ 24/2002
FP: 12/10/2002
AD I-140: ?
AD I-485: 03/09/2004 (1 day before FP expires - 15mos.)

I am always happy to see when someone gets through this horrific process

I'm sure it is frustrating for a lot of us to see this approval though,

if my I485 had been approved 15 months after I filed my I140, I would have been approved in June 2002!!

USCIS /INS has a lot to answer for-- and that should be to congress.

again-- any approval is a good approval-- and congrats to you

There is some aspect of the BCIS approval process that none of understand. Looks arbitary- maybe there is some mysterious logic. I have stopped wondering about it. I will bide my time, I am sure the approval would eventually come- as a pleasent surprise- one of these days/months.
