Finally it was approved after a frustating wait ... I wish all the other waiters BEST OF LUCK .. Hang in there .. Your approval days are not too far !!!! The details are posted below:

I-140 started in Oct. 1999
I-485 Started in Aug. 2000 (- ND: 08/00)
RFE Issued : July 24, 2001 ( Reason: Medical Documents Missing/Incomplete for self and spouse)
RFE Reply UPdated in INS AVM: Aug. 22, 2001
I-485 Approved ( for both) on : Sept, 28, 2001.
Finally its over !!! Spoke with an IIO this morning and confirmed the news.

I responded around Aug. 15th and it was updated in AVM on Aug 22nd.
