My I-485 is approved. RD 09/99, ND 10/04/99, FP: 03/10/01, EB2-INDIA-PD:12/98.
RFE generated on 03/28/01 for last 3 pay stubs and W2/2000.
RFE replied on 04/04/01 and received by INS on 04/09/01 as per AVM.
Approved Just Now. What a relief! I don\'t know what to do with my
new found freedom.

For those who are still waiting I am posting my story to let the time pass.
Story: Came to this country in 1992 for MS Computer Science after
working as an Engineer for 5 years in India. Since My under grad was
not in Comp Sc., ended up doing lot of pre-requisites. Wife and childrens
F2 got rejected twice. Lived without family for 2 years, finally completed
MS in 1994. Waited two long months before getting my JOB(doing thesis on one side). Got H1 in 08/94 and finally brought the family over here. After
almost two years of exploitation at 35-40 k in City finally figured out that the my company who promised to do GC processing only after 6 months of joining has no intention of doing it. Changed the job and applied for
GC in Aug 96. The company lawer filed under EB3 Regular(NO RIR at that moment). Said it is company policy.
Got stuck in the State labor queue, finally got the Approval for ad in May
98 and advertised. But there was a huge back log at NY DOL.Company did not
agree to file another labor under RIR. Did some risky calculation gambled
and changed the company again to file in RIR with 19 months left on the
H1. Got lucked out! everything came through and dates became current so
filed for I-485 9 months before the expiry of H1 and have been on work permit since then with the same company.
