I 485 approved but I 140 status yet pending.

My and my wife I 485 approval notice we received saying that you will receive card within 120 days. But my I140 status yet shows the same status. Not yet approved.

Is this mistake or they forget to update the status on I 140.

I am confused ,is there any catch here. I am not able to enjoy my I 485 approval.

They have not mention about going to local office and get stamp. I have to travel to my home country. What option do I have now?
Pl advise.
 
You 140 might approved already.

Some times online message will not change and your lawyer might have recieved your approval. Check with them.

Yes, your lawyer might have the approval. One of my friends had the same problem. For one week he couldn't enjoy his 485 approval. I'm sure they won't approve your 485 without I-140 approval. Check with your lawyer or employer.

I already checked

I checked with him. He does not have any approval.
He says we will wait and then ask for status inquiry.
 
Could you please provide some information about your case? Service center, PD, RD, FP etc? Many thanks.

I have a similar situation. I got approval emails (I-485) on 6th May 2005 for me and my wife but my I140 is still pending. I spoke to my lawyer and he asked me to be patient and asked me to wait and said that he would let me know as soon as he recieves the I140 notice.

wanted to share my exp with USCIS rep.
He told me that if u have filed 140 and 485 concurrently then and only then , if your 485 is cleared means that 140 is also cleared.
 
I have seen few cases where 485 is approved,but 140 is still pending.
So don't assume that 140 is already approved if 485 is approved..i don't want to scare anyone..I am just telling based on my experience here...

PLease share what the exp is? Anybody faced any trouble at the time of stamping or afterwards?

I talked to the Customer Rep and this is how he explained me ..im not sure how much to relie on this statement though..
"If you filed I 485 and I140 JOINTLY/TOGETHER then if I485 is cleared , that means your I140 is also cleared but if filed Seperatly then this you have to wait for I140 clearance)

Online message of my I140 is "MY I140 application was received and sent
to process", and was never updated after that status.. Online says I485
has been approved, though.
My lawyer received I140 approval notice and I received I485 approval notice
as well as plastic card already.
Sometimes, online message is not in sync with reality.

Hi

The news on my side is that I have got the passport stamping done for me and my wife. We have already recieved the plastic card for my wife and son. I am waiting for my plastic card.
