I-485 Approved - April 2004 case

Mine and my family's ( Wife and 7 yr old son )I-485s got approved !! It is indeed a great sense of relief. I got the e-mails on 10/04/2006 and got the cards in the mail today.

Here is my case history.
PD - Oct 10th 2001. EB2 category
Labor approved - Jan 2004 ( After going back to state in Jul 2003 )
I-140/I-485 RD - 04/08/2004
I-140 Approved after RFE on 01/07/2005
2nd Finger printing with Biometrics - 09/28/2005
3rd EAD in use ( do not need it any more !!! )
I-485 Approved - 10/04/2006.

I got stuck in Name Check for more than 2.5 years. I do not know what caused the Name check to clear but this is what I did for my Name Check.

1. Inquired many times through my lawyer ( & personally also ). Latest inquiry was Jun 2006 & Jul 2006 via the 1-800 number. Got a response on 09/01/2006 saying that the check is still pending !!
2. Contacted the local Congresswoman around March 2006 time frame. My wife's Name Check got cleared in April 2006. I do not know when mine was cleared.

I hope everyone who is pending in Name Check and I-485 approvals get theirs faster than mine. It has been a tough 5 year period for the whole process, and every step was a big hurdle. But finally it is OVER !!

Congratulations! Did it occur to you that today is also October 10, same as your PD. Looks like 5 years is the charm.

Thats quite right. It seems 5 years is indeed the charm. I did note that when I received the cards !!!

I am from India and I do not recollect when my PD became current. It was a long time ago.

I do not re-call all the LUDs but here are the few that I remember.
10/27/04,12/10/2004,12/11/2004,12/14/2004,03/2005,10/2005 ( 2nd FP ),04/2006,06/15/2006,09/01/2006 - I STOPPED CHECKING AFTER THIS !!!
