I 485 approved and Biometrics

My I-485 got approved on Aug. 16th 2006. The approval letter has following material:

The above application has been approved. Prior to receiving your permanent resident card you may be required to report for biometrics processing (photo/fingerprint/signature). Please do not take any action at this time. If you are required to report for this processing, you will receive another notice advising you of the date, time and location to appear.

If you have not received your permanent resident card or the above mentioned notice to appear for biometrics processing within 90 days, please call this office at the number listed below.


Please let me know if I would have to get Biometrics as I have just gotten my fingerprints done 45 days ago. Is there any difference between Biometrics & fingerprints? After how many days can I expect to have my green card?

My I485 was approved on 07/28/06 . I recieved an email on 08/01 that an approval was mailed to me. I never received the approval letter but received the Card on 08/07/06.

My attorney received the approval letter which he mailed me that has the same exact message that you have.

Probabaly your card is on its way.

Are you done with Biomet. code 2? if yes you will get your card pretty soon. If not, you have to wait for another notifiaction for biomet code 2 ( index finger printing, a digital photograph and your signature on a LCD screen). Good Luck

But did you already have your biometrics done (which includes picture and signature)?

I have not gotten my biometrics done. My fingerprinting was done in first week of July. So as I did not have my signature nor picture taken so I guess I may be called for biometrics.

Biometrics: code 3 = code 1 + code 2. They take all your fingerprints, as well as your index finger, photo and signature.

Hi Ajay,
yesh, my 485 approved 0n 8/24 but i still didnt get my card til now. Did you get yours as of today? I have code 3. I am wondering what's wrong cuz most of people get their card right away :(

Hi, as of today, did you get your card yet?? I am in the similar situation. It's been 2 weeks, i still didnt get my card :(

Cousin Approved in June....Card still waiting

GC approved for my cousin on June 8 and his spouse on June 28....both are waiting for the BioMetrics / Card.
