I-485 approved! & questions on I-551

Finally, after many years of anxious waiting, my I-485 was approved. Here are the details: (I am not in the list)

EB3-RIR
PD: 12/1998
RD: 4/9/2001
ND: 4/26/2001
EAD: 6/4/2001
AP: 6/8/2001
FP: 8/22/2001
AD: 10/26/2001
WAC: 01-167-50xxx

I went to the local INS office for I-551 stamping. The lady had too much ink on her stamp, so the validity date wasn\'t very clear. It should be "NOV 1, 2002", but looked like "NOV 1, 20##". She realized that, so she
stamped the validity date again nearby in the blank space.

Do you think this will have any problems?

Does the person have to show up for stamping the I-551 on passport?

My father received the notice for green card stamp recently. But he is outside the country and can\'t come back soon. Does anyone know if he can mail back his passport and have it stamped?
