Hi Guys,

We (me and my wife) finally turned green today.

I have been a silent visitor of this forum and thank you guys for all the advice,support.

Here are the details

EB3-India

Filed first 1-140 substitute labor January 2000

I-140 approved -around october 2000.

Lost job in May 2001 and could not file I-485.

Started with another company and filed for another labor in April 2002

Labor approved 2005 December

Filed I-140 requesting old priority date from previous labor and got it approved March-2006 with priority date of April 1999.

I-485 filed in Vermont in April 2006

Kept calling them , was always told out of range or stuck in name check.

Sent an expedite request in December was told to wait 6 months.

Case transferred to TEXAS on MARCH 15 2007.

Was Always told by Texas that stuck in name check.

Wrote to first lady about name check almost every 2 weeks since May 07.

Got a letter from FBI saying in Process in early July 2007

Finally got a letter from my senator in September saying that name check was cleared in July 23.

I opened a case problem by using form 7001 with Ombudsman's office, got a response saying that wait for 45 days. Nothing happened that quickly but it sure helped.

Also kept on writing to my senators, congresswoman every 2 weeks or so since May 2007.
They sent enquiry to congressional unit of USCIS.

Infopass: sometime in July

Officer just gave me address of Texas service center Thats it !!

Calling Texas:

Every time was told that name check pending.

After name check cleared was told not with an officer, no visa numbers assigned.

Advice to all the hardworking people Please do not lose hope and get help from
your senators, congressman. It may be slow but sure helps.
 
April 2006... Hmm. getting close to July 2006

There seems to be a vague pattern or priority that USCIS follow. This is indicated by the fact that many 2004-2005 filers (namely receipt date at service centers) have been approved in the past couple of months, while it is rather rare to see a 2006 case approved (other than the before July 1 mad processing).

Now we witness a April 2006 case approved. A sign of some movement? Certainly hope so.

Anyway, do whatever that we can do to expedite name check by writing to president, FL, congressman, etc. and hope we will see more 2006 cases being approved in October and following months.

I didn't get your two weeks statement, how many(approx.) mails did you send to First lady.

Every 2 weeks i sent fax to FL office ,Senator Clinton's office n my local congresswoman's office......
