Posting for a friend -- his I-485 got approved.

ND: 4/2002
FP Date: 10/2002 (After 2 fax inquiries)
EAD Date: 8/2002
AP Date: 6/2002
AP Renewal Date: 4/2003
I-485 Approval Date: 4/2003

His case was approved exactly in a year. Guess INS wants to avoid the trouble
of sending rfe and re-fingerprinting notice. If this pattern persists,
many people file
in May, 2002 might get their approval soon.

Doesn't really make sense!

First of all, INS doesn't care about sending out RFE's or re-fingerprinting notices.
Secondly, That is way out of the JIT! JIT is still at 9/9/01
Thirdly, too many people waiting in October, Nov Dec 01.

I guess he just got lucky, or was a secondary applicant or an age out case. Can you confirm please?

Sounds like Advance Parole Approval to me and not 485.

Anyway, if this is true, there must be something
special to his case. Is it age-out case?

Where is he located? What was his FP location?

If you know his exact ND or WAC series, we would
know the status. there are so many people with
scanner. They could check if his WAC series
really started OR it was just his case.

believe it or not, it's true. my friend is very
pleasantly surprised himself as well.

he's the primary applicant, not age out case.

he is WAC02 case. filed in April 2002. i am not
sure exactly date.

i guess he just got lucky. i sincerely wish
more and more people get this kind of luck.

I am not surprised. I have seen these type of things more than once.

This certainly does not mean that they are now processing 4/2002 cases.

EB1?

freebsd,

Congrats!!

Is it EB1 or EB2? If it is EB1, does that mean EB1 takes priority to EB2?

Thanks,

-xy

Now a days EB1 EB2 and EB3 are same. It must be a fluke only.

It does not mean any thing, yeah you may say that any thing is possible at INS.

to answer some of the questions..

he is EB2 category i believe. he filed at INS
san francisco office; did his FP near San Jose.

again he is not an age out case.

I just talked with the guy. He works in the same company as mine. He is a good friend of mine. WAC number seems to be around 02-170. All other info you can get from freebsb posting.

This is really beyond my wildest dreams.

He is truly an lucky guy.

Damned INS, what the fuck when you are going to pick up my case.

Congratulations to your friend on his approval.

I believe that your friend got an approval but some information that caused this early approval may be missing here. If he is EB based (you wrote that he is EB2) then he has to file at California Service Center (CSC). How can he file at SFO? If a case is filed at local INS (like SFO -where all family based GCs are filed) the processing time varies a lot w.r.t. cases filed at service center. Let's say a primary's application is transferred to local BCIS office and then dependant's application is filed at local office then it is possible that both applications are processed togeather OR something on same lines..

If the approval is from local BCIS office it makes some sense, if it is from CSC then your friend is a one lucky person.

PCee, the friend filed with CSC. but SF office
processes his application ... for example, he
went to SF office for passport stamping. that's
what i meant. i hope this clears things up.

He just has the same cases as ours. No age out, no local filing. He is single. EB-2, not NIW, not eb-1. He has done nothing special. He is just an unbelievable lucky guy. INS freaks me out.

per latest kashmir scan, there was a couple of fresh approvals in early march 02 series too, I guess, around 02-126...

Congrats to your friend

He is unbelievably lucky. So lucky that he may soon win a lottery jackpot....his case was processed ahead of hundreds of Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb and Mar '02 filers. If such a thing happened in India, I would surely have believed that a 'connection' existed.

I totally agree. One of project mate filed in Feb 2002 got Approval in last week of march. This is true. I see him every day.
He is EB2. Done FP in July 2002.
