I-485 approval possible when pending RFE on EAD extn ?

Absurd but true. This is the last thing I had hoped for.
I got RFE on my EAD renewal application. Don't know yet what it is all about.
My current EAD expires in 2 months...so little worried.

Is iEAD a possibility ?
Is I-485 approval a possibility when RFE is pending on EAD application ?
