I-485 Approval Notice Sent with out Cards?

On 8/12/08, I saw the message "Approval Notice Sent" on USCS site for me and my wife. Theer was no sequence for us like Welcome Notice...Card Production ordered...Approval Notice....The first and only message was Approval notice sent.

So,

Today myself and my wife received the mail of approval notice but we did not get the cards. Generally till now what I heard and saw in forums is....when we see the message "Approval notice sent" in the USCIS site, every body got their cards in a week after that message.

But for us we got only notices saying that it is approved and the message on the Notice says

"The above application has been approved. Prior to receiving your permanent resident card you may be required to report for biometrics processing (photo/fingerprint/signature). Please do not take any action at this time. If you are required to report for this processing, you will receive another notice advising you of the date time and location to appear.

If you have not received your permanent resident card or the above mentioned notice to appear for biometrics processing within 90 days, please call this office at the number listed below"

Please do let me know if any body in the same situation and do we need to do any thing for it.

Recently they have had glitches with card production and some people's cards are getting delayed. If you don't get the card after 30 days since getting the approval notice, make an Infopass appointment and take the approval notice with you and get them to put an I-551 stamp in your passport.

...and I don't think I need to worry and I think it is sure that my 485 is approved. Am I right? Sorry for the ignorance...
 
How to check the status of namecheck

Hi all,

How can I check the status of namecheck. I also heard that even if my name check is not done and it is past 6 month filing 485 then USCIS will approve the case if my date is current. Is my understanding correct?

Yes, You are right per the discussions in different forums.
 
Can you share your detail?

Please let us know your PD, RD etc.
Have you received you FP notice before?
Probably that is the reason they have only sent the approval notice.
You will receive your card after your FP is done.

My FP is done last November and my wife's in January.

PD: Dec ' 05
RD: 1st August
140 approved April 2007
465 approved 8/12/08

To my knowledge there will not be any FP after 485 is approved. If at all there is any it should be done before the approval.

Is any body in my situation received the Physical cards?. I am yet to receive them. Is it normal? Please advice...

If you are required to do FP, usually you will receive appointment after one month from approval, if not you should receive the card after one week maximum. In any situation you are already PR from the day of approval and you can even go to stamp your passport with the immigrant visa by which you can work (change your status), travel, and enjoy your life. congrat!

Thanks a lot.

I am thinking that I should get the cards rather than FP notice because it is less than a year my finger prints are done. I did my FP in last week of Nov' 07 and my wife in Jan ' 08.

Per you, I think I am fine either way, if I don't get the card by the end of next week, I think I can take the stamping on my passport.

I did get the Approval notice in mail and also got a Biometrics appt ( Code 2) .

I finished the Biometrics appt on 09/04/2008 . Code 2 is Digital Picture,Signature and right hand Index Finger.

THE LUD on USCIS CRIS is now 09/05/2008 with the same status ( Approval Notice sent ).

Before some one ask's about the case details.. here they are..

Country: India , Substitute Labor
PD : Dec 2004
I-140 --> May 2007
I-485 --> Aug 2007
Finger Printing : Nov 2007
AP approved : Nov 2007
I-485 RFE : Jul 8th 2008
I- 485 RFE sent AUG 5th 2008
I-485 Approved : Aug 12th 2008.

I am not worried abt the cards @ this time because I do have the approval Notice in my hand. But I still check the status everyday.. cant help it ;-)

Mine is exactly the same as yours except the PD which is plus one year (i.e Dec' 05)

Good to hear that you got the Biometrics notice. I am still waiting for it.

Either you get the Biometrics or the card, but as yo got the Biometrics and u r done with it on 4th, so u will be getting the cards within 2 weeks.

Hoping that I too will get either the biometrics or the card soon.

By the way, is ur Receipt number starts with WAC...because sor most of the people Biometrics are missing when these cases transfered to different location. Mine is TSC but transfered to CSC and back to TSC.
