I-485 Approval - GOOD NEWS

Hi All

After a long wait and frustration, i heard the good news on saturday.

Here are the details

GC started : 09/15/1998
Category : EB2/RIR/India)
I-140 Approval : 08/2000
I-485 ND : 09/29/2000
I-485 RD : 10/02/2000
EAD / AP : 01/20/2001
Finger Printing : 04/14/2001
2nd Finger Print: 08/11/2001

I missed my Finger printing on 02/2001 since i was out of the country that time and i had to do it in 04/2001.

(EAD is valid until 01/10/2002)

Legend:

ND - Notice Date
RD - Receipt Date
EAD - Employment Authorization Document
AP - Advance Parole

and I happened to check the INS voice message on 09/08/2001 later in the
evening and I heard the MAGIC WORDS. My wife\'s case also got approved on the same day - 09/06/2001 was the approval date for both of us.

Question:

Will the INS send the approval notice to me directly or to my employer?.

I changed my job using 180 days rule. Do i need to call my pevious employer and ask him to forward the mail to me immediately.

CIBA - Please update this info.

I will go for stamping once i get my approva; notice and shall keep you guys posted.

Congrats and a question!

Pachai:

You said that you missed the FP appointment date. What did you have to do to get a new one?

 My lawyer warns me that if I miss my FP appointment, it will put my whole GC process at risk...

Hi Pachai,

What are the things did you do to follow up the case with INS once you had done your FP.I know that it took some time for you to get approved after your FP.Please let us know if you send any faxes or did you call IIO .

Don\'t miss the FP appoitment.

It certainly will delay the GC process.

If you miss it, please inform them otherwise, INS considers that your case is abandoned.

I did all ...

Sent one Fax inquiry - got a negative response
I called IIO 3 or 4 times - but no positive response from them.
I approcahed thru\' senator 3 times and they have sent 3 fax inquiries. don\'t whether that helped, doesn\'t hurt trying

anyways good luck and hopefully INS won\'t goof on your case
as they did on mine.

Congrats!!!You will get the courtesy copy to

your home addres....You can use it for stamping...
If you want the original ask your lawyer...

Pachai, Congrats. Can you kindly give more info on how you informed INS abt missing FP and rescheduled it? Did your lawyer do it? Pl. provide some info. Thanks.
