I-485 approval copy missing

I got my I-551 stamp on 8/3/01 on courtsey I-485 approval notice. Myself or my lawyer have not received I-485 approval copy.

1. Can I get duplicate copy?
2. My wife\'s passport is expiring in March. Should I get new passport or wait till I get plastic cards

Pls advice...

You have to get a new passport

Since March is quite near, I would start the process to get a new passport.

The I-551 stamp on your old passport is still good even after you receive the new passport.

what if they lose the passport

I do not have I485 approval notice. How would I get the new stap in that case

You can always show the old passport stamp and get the stamp on the new passport..

i think they will append new ppt to old one just check iwth indian SFO consulate
so u do not have to get new I-551 stamp. in fact , INS won\'t stamp it again
