Hello,

I wanted to know if it was required to have a lawyer to make your immigration application for the green card.
I heard you can do it on your own and save about 2000 usd is this true?

Regards

No,
I did everything on my own but you have to present the case as if the company you are working for is submitting for you and get the President and HR to sign the letters for you.

One advantage of using lower though is that your attorney will get copy/original of the approval notice - a big factor if you change address or letter gets lost in the mail.

LC and I-140 are the problem because they are not your petition, but your employer's. So you cannot apply them. But your company can file without the help of a lawyer (if you can convince your employer to do that).
On the other hand, I-485 is your petition. Therefore, you definitely can apply your own.
