I 485 and lay off

My I 485 is pending since 2002. I was on L1. My second FP is scheduled for Aprtil 2005. What if I lose my job now? Pl advice
 
just ask your employer to keep you in the payroll for a while till u got a new same/similar job.

If you loose your job, there is no out of status issue because your I-485 is pending. You need to find a similar job (as mentioned in your LC) and make sure that your new employer is willing to support your GC (if USCIS asks for employment verification letter or job description).
 
What happens when my 485 is apprved and I have my job lost? Will the officer know that my job is lost? Do I have ti show my employment proof letter at the time of gc stamping? Kindly help.
