Situation-Family of 4 on one income ready to file I-485 based on immigrant number becoming available and an already approved I-140. Family of 4 has resided together as a family through the entire process.

Question - Does the principal breadwinner of the family with the approved I-140 have to also file a Form I-134 affidavit of support for the spouse or family??

(I see this subject being discussed, however once filed for I-485/EAD the non-working spouse can get their own EAD in 60-90 days anyway right??)

Thanks,

Affidavit of support

A closer review of the instructions of the I-485 Form indicate that an affidavit of support is only necessary if filing for a relative, fiance', or for an employment based business that is 5% or more owned by family...

I don't think this applies to my situation..????
