hi!I have question.
I am getting ready to applying for N-400
all paper work is done ;-))
which USCIS should I go to file the N-400 between SF and Oakland?
my house is about middle between the two offices
Oakland is much easier for me to drive than diriving into the city.
do I have to file the paper at closest office from my house?
I did apply my GC aboout 12 years ago at the SF office but I remember that it was SOOOOOO busy the USCIS.
thanks.

Things have changed in the last 12 years ;) You file your N-400 by mail, you don't take it to a local office. Your local office for interview will be determined by your address/zip code. There are links in the www.uscis.gov site to locate your local office by zip code. You need to mail the application to the California Service Center.

For the local office:
https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=LO

This will give you the office where you should get your interview. It is also helpful to know as for example, San Francisco office is much quicker than San Jose. Nothing that you can do about it, as I said, it depends on where you live.

This page gives you where to file in California:

congratiation:D

Thank you. Good luck with your application. San Francisco is a good place to have the naturalization. Way faster than San Jose and nice features like you can apply for passport right after the ceremony, or so I have read.

Thanks for your good wishes.
