I-20 will expire in 14 days

because I missed so many classes ( I really didn't know the teach would report this to school). I mailed I-485 today based on marriage to USC. but I am not sure whether there will be a gap between my I-20 expiration date and adjustment of status date. My question is after my I-20 expires, do I have a grace period? otherwise, how can I maintain my legal status till my status has been changed to AOS? I dont want any illegal stay since I want to use advance parloe to go back to my country. thanks in advance.

yes, you will have 60 days. You won't accumulate any illegal presense since you are on F-1 visa with D/S in your I-94, especially if it's a couple of days between the expiration of your status and the notice of receipt for I-485.
