Depends on what answer u are seeking..

How long its gonna take ? The answer to
your question lies in what u would like for an answer.
If you are seeking solace and consolation and sugary
projections, your I-140 will come around tommorrow.
If you are looking for the true and pragmatic reply, the
answer is nobody knows...I don't know how someone
said its 180-365 days...it can be 900 days too.
If u ask me.. the answer is never ; the reason ? here's
my thoughts on current INS strategy :-
If they inrease your I-140 time to ( say ) 900-1200 days, by the
very way human beings are and by the very way companies
function here, either
1) You will get frustrated and abandon the process
or
2) You will be laid off or your co. will go bust.
In either case, your I-140 appln. will not need to be worked upon.
Thus INS can say they are processing I-140's in 900-1200
days and yet, they have to do nothing.. just no work at all !!!

Interesting Hypothesis………..The way things are moving and time it requires getting permanent residency through employment, you might be right in a year or so.

Well if you have actually reached the point of amusement then just a suggestion from a looser to change your Id to AmusedI140.
. I am sure you are not a looser to continue with the same ID like me, you see my ID is still H1Need from the time of me waiting for a H1 till this time when I am waiting for my I140. Well I need not tell you that loosers do not move ahead fast enough, they stay stagnant. Correct?

two month ago, I got inf. from an ins officer who told me my i-140 should wait additional 9 month at least although I already waited 180 days at that time. I did not believe her, but now i understand what she said. So, I hope you all be patient like me. Tomorrow should come, your gc should come too.

I , for one, don't disbelieve you
Read my post above. I don't disbelieve you heard that.
However, my take is this.. u won't get it in even the time frame
he said.
Look at what's happening in the world.. look at reactions
of people you see in the stores, the roads when they see
anyone not of a certain skin color. Its a mark of correctness
and patriotism in this country now to cause harm to
immigrants.
If INS does not handle your I-140, I-485, they will still keep
getting paid; and what more ...not handling such applications
would earn kudos of patriotism for them. Nobody is going
to ask INS why they aren't handling I-140s and I-485s.
My conclusion is this......no case officer is or would handle
any application. No I-140's are being looked at now. Period. Its
like an infinite timeout value. Within that timeout period, if u loose
job or just leave this country, all the better for INS.
It was therefore that I had sugsested time and again that
we get together, raise money and do something. I have
stopped doing that now, realizing that its useless with such a
wimpy coward group of people, who are more concerned
in interpreting how INS case officers may be decoding codes
like E11, E12 etc. Its all a hogwash....just to show they are
working..when they are not. Its that simple.
Only if we can get together, we can get these issues heard
and addressed. Otherwise, you can think u can get it in
300 days or 600 or 900...keep thinking....the online
message will keep getting changed ( or maybe not even that )
