I-140 RFE - Pls help

I got an REF on my I-140 in Jan, 2005 and the lawyer responded within two weeks from the issue date. However, the case status on the INS web site shows the same message that RFe issued.

Response was FedExed and we have the proof that INS received RFE.

Does case status updates after receiving RFE? If so how long does it takes to update status?

though the delay is normal but i would say don't wait till the deadline date of the RFE. ask your lawyer to contact them. if somehow the papers have been misplaced, at least you have time to resend them now. else you will have to fight it out with uscis and that can be a bigger hassle.

Finally I received an email from USCIS that 140 has been approved.

There was no change in status after receiving RFE. My lawyer initiated an inquiry on April 5th and today it has been approved.

It looks like we should bug the officers every now and then to get our work done.
