According to the "Breaking News" in immigration-law.com, a New I-140 has
to be submitted if the location of the company changes. My company moved
a couple of miles to a new town. According to the "Breaking News" I have
to file for a new I-140. What does this imply ?
- Is it a new I-140 ?
- Is it an amendment to the already approved I140 ? ( I am a I485 waiter )
- How long does this take for approval ? Is this faster than a fresh I-140 ?
thanks,

From the information I have gathered, you will have to file a new I-140 with the corrected name and tax id change (if any) and indicate that you are making an amendment to your original filing. Once this reaches the INS, they will amend your case with the new information which will be expedited faster than an original I-140 filing since it is an amendment. Read the boards & consult your lawyer, but no harm in filing for a new I-140, even after your fingerprints have been taken since nothing changes (your PD, RD, ND dates stay the same).

I know of many people in your situation that are doing this. I suggest that you post your findings/actions on this thread which usually prompts others to do the same. That way, we can all track the INS ctions regarding this somewhat ambiguous procedure.

Thanks. I can\'t help wondering that with the new law which should be
in place soon, whether a company address change ( within a couple of
miles of the old address ) will be a issue since it allows for a change of company after a wait of 180 days after I-485 is filed.
I have already waited for about 400 days.
