I-140 Receipt

I recently filed concurrent and received all the receipts(I485, AP, EAD) in 10 days. My employer is not giving me I140 receipt no.
On asking he says that it (I140) is a company related matter and you don't need it. I don't know why is he doing this.
Has similar thing happened with anybody?
Any idea why he is not giving the receipt no?
Anyway I have not given up, but was curious to know.

I-140

Since it is a concurrent filling, he can just little about it.
Now U can get it from Ur lawyer. Did U try that.

I-140

You can do little bit of hard work and might hit upon Ur Lin number for I-140.

You have Lin # for Ur 485,ead and AP correct. You know the ND right.

So Ur I-140 will be close to those lin numbers. So go the status check web page and enter those # -- close to Ur other LIN and if you hit upon I-140 then that might be Ur case.
If you find multiple -- then just keep in track of all those.

To an extent your employer is right. I-140 is companies application and I-485/EAD and AP are employees (your) application. SO he is within his rights to not give you the receipt no. But his motive for doing this seems to be to keep you in the dark regarding status of you I-140 so that once it is approved you do not find about it and therefore cannot use AC21 to change employers.

One option for you could be to file FOIA application after a few months. To find more about FOIA and how to file it, search this forum for FOIA or Freedom of Information.

Billtoo,

I tryed as you had suggested me and it seems it worked.
I got one LIN no for I-140 which is just -2 (minus 2) of my I-485 Lin No.
and the file received date is also same.
I further searched and found only one more I140 file +/- 25 of I485 number.

great!!! it worked ...
Thanks

Hi:

One suggestion, our I-140 and I485 receipts are 93 numbers apart despite filing together in one envelope. Therefore you may want to broaden your range a little, just to be on the safer side. :)

kashish,

How do you say the difference will be 93.
Or, because your 485 and 140 has a difference
of 93, you are assuming this.
By the way, had you filed concurrent?

One question, If I call the 1-800 no. and
give I140 receipt no., will they tell me the name
of the person filed for?
I think so I just cannot ask the name, there
should be some reasonable question.
Can anybody suggest me ?

I have one question,
can a receipt no of I-140 be greater than I-485 ?
Has anybody come across with this situation?

Logically it should not be. Hey its USCIS anything is possible.

As per your question being 93 apart my two applications filed on the same day in the same envelope have 27 and 80 numbers between them.
I-485 to I-765 is 27 and I-765 to I-131 is 80 all were filed on the same day using a single envelope and a single cheque.

Yes I think the gap might be as big as 50 - 90. But there might be some clues -- like I-140 will be less than I-485. And AP and EAD will be higher than I-485 number. So I think U should look for lower number than I-485.
{ For concurrenlty filed cases}
Can the reader confirm to this theory.

Lets help APUNKAGC out of his emp created mess...

hey you can run that xl sheet to get all the 140 numbers of the day and check. He might hit his number by eliminating most of other numbers.

:) excel sheet is on top thread.

however!,

Are you talking about this thread
"2004 XL tracker for NSC only!!!"

I cannot see any LIN numbers.

If I am hitting wrong thread,
can you please guide me properly
where is the sheet.

By the way today I got my FP notice.
Just after one month of RD.
