I-140 Receipt number = Case Number

This may be a stupid question !

I have e-filed I-140 yesterday and got a BCIS receipt #. Is it my case number too? Or it will be assigned later?

Just wanted to make sure as sometimes similar "terms" are so different in meaning.

Yes it is... SRC**...

You will use it to establish an account with USCIS and ask for emails to be sent to you when stuff happens on your case. You will also be able to look on line at your case! Miracles of modern technology... Imagine when people had to patiently wait for a letter to be delivered in their real mailbox
