I-140 pending! I'm desperate!

My I-140 was received on 9/18/2003, no RFE, still pending. My lawyer did a status inquiry in July, no response still. I sent emails, wrote letters, called and left messaged to both senators' offices, no response either. Finally, I was able to talk to a representative of the local congressman. After explaining to him my situation, he told me information released on the INS website didn't reflect the real processing time and some cases did take longer than others. He accessed my case and because the INS website said it takes between 90 to 485 days to processs this kind of case, he told me my case didn't hit 365 days yet so I should be patient. It seems that I have to wait for at least another half year before I can seek the help from the congressman. I am so desperate! What should I do?

The representative at your congressman' office is not fully informed. Explain her that the published processing times overrule the guesstimated dates projected on the online status message.

Ask her to contact the congressional contact at the USCIS and launch a formal enquiry. Usually the respoinse from the congressman / Senator's office might take longer if you contact them via email. The best bet is to call them and speak to the representative or if you are closeby go meet the representative in person. Take a copy of the processing dates to present your case.

my local representitive did a formal inquiry into CSC. The reply she got from CSC is useless - something like CSC is trying really hard to reduce the backlog, I140 included. I suggest you to contact ALIA and give it a shot.

FP Notice

I recieved mine and my husband's FP Notices yesterday but no news on I-140. Does this mean that I-140 should come around anytime soon ?

I-140: Category: EB2, Notice Date: 12/13/03, Approval Date: ??
I-485: Notice Date: 12/13/03. Approval Date: ??

Thanks,

BadaBing

I dont think FP has anything to do with 140. BEcause in the past they were issueing FPs very soon after filing 485.

but in the past discussions they were planning for not to approve 140 and not to issue FP until 485 is ready for approval.

So dont know what are they planning to do.

Thanks

My I-140/I-485 ND is Aug 2003. Got my I-140 approved on Aug 3rd. However, didn't receive FP yet.
You all guys have FP done. Some how this is my feeling that you all are going to get your I-140/I-485 together and pretty soon. Keep us informed.

USCIS got FP results

guys, Atleast some activity on my 485..still no news on 140.

I received 2 emails few mins back saying...

On September 15, 2004, the results of your fingerprint review for your
I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status
were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you
a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made.
