Does anyone have a thought as to what this means?

We received an email stating there was an RFE . Never recieved it. I checked the address. And now they write "On October 12, 2004, the document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued."

I think this is an approval message, but can't guarantee.

You also said there was a RFE. If USCIS try to send RFE to your lawyer and can't reach your lawyer. USCIS will try send the RFE to you directly, the online status may be display this message also.
