I-140/I-485 interfiling/substitute case

Hi All,

I just want to share my experience. I need you guys input also.
I applied two I-140 and one I-485 application. One I-140 and I-485 is pending and the other I-140 is approved.

I requested USCIS, VSC to interfile/substitute pending I-485 to approved I-140 on Feb 09, 2005. I have not recieved anything yet from USCIS.

Anybody can suggest how to contact them. Is there any method where I can request USCIS so that they will definitely respond me. I want to clear about this.

I have not seen any such kind of case in this forum.

Please put your valuable suggestion and information.

This is my opinion:
If USCIS do the interfiling (attach your 485 to approved 140), there will definitely be a LUD on that approved 140. This is not sure shot but still should tell you that they have considered your request.
This is I would suggest:
Call USCIS and talk to sevice center directly by selecting the option from their menu "if you think you filed 2 related cases and think these got seperated". This comes after your case status is read out to you after punching in the EAC (case number). Once with VSC rep, ask him/her that you are concerned that if the other 140 gets denied, your 485 will be denied also. As you have another approved 140 and have already asked for interfiling, you would like to know if that has been done. In other words ask them to check if your 485's dependence from pending 140 has been removed and the new 140 is attached to your 485.
