I-140 for CP, applied AOS, lets track

There are several issues in thess cases:

1. Lot of people says that Consulate will send back file after 1 year. If I-140 approval is a year ago, before your case is opened, there is no delay.

2. Some officers don\'t need file to be present.

Lets track all the cases however old to the latest ones, to get a feeling how much difference CP approval make. We need to write I-140 approval date, MD, RD,ND, FD and AD or RFE date if any.

My dates are:

I-140 9/4/01
MD 9/17/01
RD 9/19/01
ND 11/14/01
FD 2/23/02
AD ????

I140 for Cp, RD 7/26/01 Waiting for approval. Does all I140 Cp cases take more time or does it depend on officer who is assigned?
 
140 for CP, Applied AOS..Attorney informed NVC about intent to file AOS..

RD-12/18/01
ND-01/04/02
FP-02/08/02
AVM updated to :: FP received on 02/13 and processing resumed.

I donot expect much in coming months and my case is much recent than most other cases.
 
Is there any specific form to inform NVC about the intention to do AOS?

Can an individual do it or a Lawyer has to do it?

Got EAD and AP.

Lawyer says she has notified NVC of my intent to Adjust.
NVC says my petition is currently sitting at the US Embassey in India.
Crossing my fingers!!!!!!

Lawyer has to send a letter to NVC

The only way to avoid the delay is to send the letter to NVC as soon as you recevice I-140 approval notice. Once NVC send packet-3(within 3-4 weeks) it\'s too late to react. File would be sent to consulate at the same time of issuing packet-3. Once the file is in consulate, only VSC can request it back, which is when they open the case for approval.

This is what I know, if anybody have different way to avoid delay, please post.

Interviewed 10/01(Not approved \'cause I-140 in consulate of home country
e-mail from consulate: I-140 sent 12/01. Local office not received it as of 02/25/02. IIO said it will take ~9 months!!
All the above in VSC
