I-140 filing within 45 days

Does the I-140 have to be filed withing 45 days of LC approval by PERM ?

There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding this. Can someone clarify ?

My understanding is that 45 days rule is not law yet. So, no.

I clarified this with my lawyer and also read about it in murthy.com.
DOL proposes that LC be valid for 45 days only, which would mean that I-140 should be filed within 45 days.
However, this is a proposal and not a law yet.

Yes, you guys are correct.

This is a proposal waiting to become a law anytime soon but right now we don't have to follow the 45 day cap to apply for i-140 after labor approval.

I am wondering the same question. So proposal means it is recommended or nothing now?
