Thanks eb1doc and others for all the support. My I-140 approved on 6th April 06 after answering to the RFE on 16th March. RFE was on independent letters.

I-140 (VSC; NIW) RD:15thSept05
RFE: 30th Jan06
RFE ANSWERED: 16thMar06
AD:6thApril06

I-485 (both mine and my wife) LUD 7th April 06

Why is there an LUD in I-485??..Any insight.

In general, I485 LUD changes after I140 approval (probably to indicate that the stage one is clear)

My friend's I-140 got approved Apr. 2006 under EB3, not sure if he can apply for I-485?

I applied under NIW, they fall in EB2 category.

Tell your friend to track the following link every month. It will tell him when he can apply I-485. The dates should be current to be able to submit I-485.

My friend's I-140 got approved Apr. 2006 under EB3, not sure if he can apply for I-485?

EB3 is labor based (PD is based on labor filling) and he will have to wait first to cross april 2001 bar if his PD is after that!!!!!
