I-140 Approved want to apply H1 extension for 3 years

Hello H1 Gurus,

My background:
I came to US using H1 on August 27 2000.
I am in to my 6th year of H1.
My I-140 recently got approved.
I can not file I-485 because of retro but on June 1st 2006 my PD may become current.
I want to file H1 extension ASAP for 3 years with starting date August 27 2006.
My current H1 and I-94 is valid till Dec 26 2006.

My questions:
1. How soon can I file for 3 years of extension?
2. Which data i.e. August 27th 2006 or Dec 26th 2006 as my H1 extension date?
3. What is the procedure and what all documents do I need to get 3 years of H1 extension?
4. Which service center should I mail my H1 extension application? My employer is in California and I work at client's place in Connecticut.
5. What happens if for ex. I file for 3 years of extension based on approved I-140 on April 30th. Later on June 1st 2006 My PD becomes currnet but my H1 is still pending in CSC. On June 20th some one from CSC is going thourh my H1 extension application now my question is Will my H1 be approved for 3 years as I filled H1 extension when my PD was not current or will it be approved for 1 year as when USCIS was going through my H1 extension application my PD is current or no approval because I am asking for 3 years of extension and I am eligible for 1 year of extension as my PD is current?

You can request for extension in 3-year increment no more than 6 months before the end of your current H-1B status with your approved I-140 (better to attach an LC also) as long as you are subject to the visa number backlog at the time of filing.

I have one more query, My passport is expiring on August 2008 which is about 2 years from my current expiry date. Can I get 3 year extension which would be from August 2006 till August 2009 even though my passport is valid till August 2008? If no, then upto how much can I get an extension knowing my passport is expiring on August 2008?

You will get 3 yrs extension. It doesn't matters. Only at the time of visa stamping your passport should be valid more than 6 months.

Passport date will not matter since you have almost 2 yrs on it. Once H1 is extended, passport can be sent for renewal. I'm in similar situation.
