I-140 approved, company wants to start green card process for my wife working in the same company. Please help.

Hi
my 140 has been approved, ND Nov 1, AD Feb 26. My wife is also working in the same company. Is it good to start here green card process or is it a bad idea.
Open for all suggestions.

RE.GC processing

I think this is good and bad, basically you have to decide/judge
your own and your wife\'s skill-sets/ability to survive in
this market, atleast for next 1 year(these days 485 is taking
8-9 months).

Good thing about this is, if you are out of job then atleast your
wife is working and will have no interruption in the GC process,
if in worst case scenario your wife is out of job then what ?
even they continue with GC, how are you going to fulfill the RFEs
which are for pay-stuff etc.(everybody won\'t get RFEs)

I am not trying to scare you, but in my opinion you should both
file for GC/485(check with lawyer on this).

No Title

If the company is paying for it, sure go ahead. I am assuming that they are going to file for labor certification for her now. At I-485 stage, there can only be one application per applicant. You apply now and also for your wife as a dependent for I-485.

Let them file for LC on her behalf. I don\'t see any problem here.
My guess is by the time her labor certification and I-140 are approved, you might get both yours I-485s approved. Remember now that LC approval might take longer now because section 245(i), I think is extended till end of May 2002 and there will be lot of applications with DOL.

Good Luck!!!!
