Case numbers - confused?

Hi,

What does this list mean? The case numbers are 13 characters, aren't they? What do the first 9 chars tell one about one's status?

can't believe!!!

There are some cases with ND 01/14/2004 and approval on 02/2/2004. Just 3 weeks for I140 and we are waiting for almost a year now......

Is it fair? or is there any other criteria (based on the labor start date).
 
Immigrationwatch.com says that VSC has approved 92 i140 apps in first 23 days of Feb 04, almost 4 approvals a day, surprisingly this is highest number in all service centers, others have not even approved this mutch in same period.

4 approvals a day? how many are pending?

if u and me work 8 hours a day, don't u think that we can approve more ?

what is all this?

1 person can work on more applications if he/she works only for 8 hours.

this is real sick.

And they are supposed to adjudicate 30000 cases a day

According to their Feb 02 press release, they said -

'Today, and each business day, USCIS will: process 140,000 national security background checks; receive 100,000 web hits; take 50,000 calls at four National Customer Service Centers; adjudicate 30,000 applications for an immigration benefit;...'

Assuming 10% of all applications are 140's, VSC should adjudicate 75 I140's per day.

some of these I-140s might be of the "Multi-national executives" or "Nurses" categories. As you can see on the USCIS processing time website, these cases are taking only a month or two for approval...

Of course, this is assuming we actually assign some logic to the USCIS published dates, and their mode of action :D
 
Multi-National exec and Nurses

It is true that those cases are getting reflected. I know a friend of mine (EB3 - IT) who had applied for I140 in Nov 03 got approved in middle of january 04 in about 6 weeks.

All !

What i donot understand from Immigrationwatchcom's statistics is that , so far 27000 I-140 cases ( 16K from 2002 and 11k from 2003) were approved .

All these 27000 cases must have been filed in the last 26 months as they come under 2002 /2003 category . That leads to conclusion that they used to approve at the rate of 1K / month . But recent statistics say that 93/month are being approved .

I am missing something , some where . Any ideas ..

Volume of Apps in VSC

VSC has highest volume of application among all centers. Still comparatively VSC is better than other centers.

The summary sheet on ImmigrationWatch.COm gives you the total apps recevied in each category.

It is almost 4 times more than CSC
 
%age-wise VSC is not doing bad at all .. They probably already HAVE more resources allocated when compared to other service centers!

Keeping my fingers crossed about the H-1B quota ending soon and hopefully some rsources getting re-allocated to speed up I-140 processing in the next few months.

:confused: Hi Hrithik - that's not always the case - my I40 has been pending since June'02 and my RFE response has been received about a year back - still no approval.

:mad: BCIS/UCSIS - hell whatever the name now is, sure ensures that immigrant slaves cannot plan their lives!

Your remark about BCIS shows how negative your thoughts are. Be positive and things will work out better for you. If your case is pending since june 02, call the BCIS center and initiate status enquiry.
