Hi all,

I was told by Texas Processing Center that my concurrently filed I140 and I485 (Jan. 2004) were both transferred to local office in Newark NJ even though I am working in SC. My lawyer thought that is a mistake and sent a letter to ask them to transfer my case to SC.

I never know anyone's I-140 being transferred to local office. It is strange. Second, my I140 and I485 should have been transferred to a local office near SC. Who has similar experience?

Thanks in advance for your comments or advice!

nothing happened after being transferred 1.5 months

Hi there,

My I-485 and I-140 were transferred on July 9th and July 12th, respectively. Nonthing has not happened since then. I doubt that it is as optimistic as waht was posted above. But I don't have any idea about waht is going on.

I am in the same boat

dragon0712,

My concurrently filed case with RD of 03/25/2004 was transferred to a local office in Miami about a month ago. I work in Ga. Lately there have been a growing number of cases like ours. A person who has been following such cases on this forum informed me that a lot of cases have gone to NJ and that they are approving both I-140 and I-1485 at the local offices. There is nothing to confirm this but that is what I have heard.

I will keep you posted on my progress. You do the same please.

update

My I-140 and I-485s were concurrently filed with RD 1/29/2004. My I-485s and I-140 were transferred to NJ on July 9, and July 12, repectively (email). Nothing has happened since then. One week ago, my lawyer sent a letter to Texas, requesting them to transfer my case back to Texas.
