I-140 amendment and I-485 (>180 days)

485 filed in 2/2001. Company recently filed an I-140 amendment (9/2001) for a simple company name change (no acquisitions, etc.).

If laid off and company withdraws I-140 amendment, will that cause problem to my pending 485 (already > 180 days)?

Will service center adjudicate 485 when they pick up the file or wait until 140 amendment approval?

Trick question...

It is 6 months since your RD. I suggest you find a lawyer with AC21 exposure and be prepared.
But here is my guess: You might get an RFE for employment. For this RFE use the new lawyer to respond so that you get the GC approval instead being bogged down by the 140 amendment. In my opinion, filing a 140 amendment should not stop your 485.
Employers are learning new ways to hinder AOS.
