I-134 required?

I am new to this discussion, can anybody tell if I-134 is required for spouse for chennai consulate.
 
My lawyer says that this is needed only for family based cases and NOT employment based.

Is this true ??

I agree with Nitin... ATTORNEY IS WRONG..
unfortunatley most attorney do not have a clue about the CP processing

For ALL your dependents you NEED a 134 that should be notorised by a Public Notory in the US
It is on the Required list of Docs for the interview.
 
I-134

In my case they did not ask for I-134. When I offered them I-134 ( stupid me) ,lady said it is not required since ur wife your is accompnying you to US.But still my advise is to get it . Its better to have it because you never know what they might ask for...
