I-134 Affidavit of Support

We are preparing to submit I-485. Husband is the primary applicant and wife is the beneficiary. Both are H1bs with permanent jobs.

The lawyer asked husband to sign a form i-134 (affidavit of support) for the wife. Is that necessary? Wife earns as much as the husband and doesn't really need 'support.' In such case, is it better (or more efficient) to provide I-134 or to provide a employment letter from wife's employor?

Many Thanks

I think, if the wife is applying as a secondary applicant, husband should sign 1-134. It confirms that husband, with a permanent job offer will support wife too. Wife's H1 is temporary and can't suffice the 134 requirement.
If the wife apply for her AOS via her own employer, then I-134 is not required.
