Can I apply for I-131 later on or do I have to file it with the rest of the package? Do you recommend applying for it at all?
 
You are eligible to apply for I-131 only when you have a pending I-485. You can also apply for it when you send in your I-485.
 
As long as you have not overstayed, I would apply for it. You never know if there will be an emergency oversees that you need to attend to. Sure, you can try to get an emergency AP from the your local DO but in my opinion, I would apply for it now.

Also, if you are going to apply for one, do it now as the NBC is processing them in about 3-4 weeks right now. The fastest I have ever seen them process them.
