Hey Guys,
I am a US Citizen and I recently filed I130/485, for my wife on H1B, concurrently at the california service center. It appears that the service centers do not accept concurrent filing of I130/485. They accepted the I130 petition and sent me a receipt, but sent back the 485 packet.

So, can you guys share some insight on what my options are at this point?. Can we file the I485 papers at the INS local office with the 130 receipt?. Can I file the 485 at the Oakland INS?. Also, we have a need to travel and my wife's H1B extension is pending -- can we get an advanced parole and how long does that process take?.

Family based applications (I-130 + I-485) need to be filed with the local BCIS office. Take the I-485 package to the local BCIS office along with a copy of the I-130 receipt and the office should accept that.

Typically the EAD/AP take 60-90 days after filing of hte I-485 so its important that you file the I-485. You can check with the local BCIS if they might consider expediting.
 
Thank you mgh. We have refiled at the sanfrancisco field office and hopefully things would be allright this time around. Thanks for your prompt response.
