I-130 Question

I-130 approved in 2001. Now filing for adjustment of status.
I don't have the original I-797 (sent to lawyer, now lost track), just have the courtsey copy (looks exactly like I-797, written courtsey copy, also written may not use in lieu of original I797 for filing or processing of case). Can I file I-485 with a copy of this? Has anyone had such experience?

Have you tried contacting uscis about getting a replacement? (800) 375-5283
Does your lawyer not have it anymore? I wouldn't try using the one stamped unusable.

Thanks. I tracked down the lawyer dude and got the original approval. I sent my AOS with the copy of the original I-797.
