I-130 Process to Petition Alien Relative

Hi,

Can someone please advise what the process is for a LPR to sponsor a spouse. Am I correct in saying you file the I-130 and G-325A forms together with supporting documents, then you wait three years for a visa number to become available. Then, the spouse will be asked to attend an interview (I, as the petitioner, do not get invited to an interview) and then I have to file an I-864. Is there anything else that I am required to complete? Also, what supporting documents should I send in with the I-130 besides a copy of my PR card, marriage certificate, lease and bank statements.
 
Carefully read all the form instructions.

Include the e-mail/text notification form.

If either has been married previously, include death or divorce documents about the prior marriages. As an LPR, the spouse petition may have derivatives (children, including step-children) so include information/documents about them.

Is the spouse abroad or in the U.S.? If in the U.S. in what status?
