I-130 & I-485 Do I need SS card?

My husband is sponsoring as a USC. He cannot find his SS card. I was recommended to submit his copy of DL and SS card along with the forms. Did you submit a copy or should we not worry about it? I don't know why SS card is necessary. We have everything else.

its okay to send one if you have it, if not that is not a problem, in any case they will need both of your ids during the interview to make copies. so go ahead and send u're forms it is not required now, and while waiting for interview he can apply for a duplicate of his SSC.
 
as long as you know the number you have to write it down but the copies are not required now. instead i think the birth certificate is what is required for the forms to be processed initially.
 
Birth certificate / passport. Are the only things required I believe. They only asked us for that on the application forms.

Now, once you get to the interview they will ask for DLs and SSCs.
 
Thank you for your replies. My new lawyer included in the things to submit. I didn't want to question his intelligence but didn't think it was require. We will get a duplicate while we wait.
