Hello folks,

I am US citizen and I filed I-130 and I-129F for my wife. She came to U.S. on K-3 visa. She has been here for a year. I was expecting that her I-130 would be approved and she would get green card soon. However, I got a notice that her I-130 application for visa was approved and it was forwarded to National Visa Center.

Am I missing something? What should I do next? Help really appreciated.

Thanks,
IH

I am in the same boat and from what I understand here is what you need to do:

Apply for her I-485 and I-765 (work permit). You can file them togther and mail them to your local INS office. In most states (atleast in my case, FL state) you can not even file for SSN without a EAD card. Once you have the SSN you can get her a drivers license and then wait for the 485/130 to approve.

NVC will send you a letter stating that you can adjust here or consular processing you have to indicate to them which one you prefer in the mean time apply for i485 using your i130 approval notice then NVC will send your file to USCIS and the process continues from there
