I guess I'm just worried about how picky they are when filling out the form,
it's about address info:

In the address field it says Address (Number and Street), and that's how an address looks like in US, but here I put the number FIRST, then the street name, does this matter?

Then it asks for town or city...

Here in Stockholm where I live it is so that only people who put Stockholm on their address info, are those who lives near the city area, all other who lives in Stockholm :) put the area of where they live, like this:

Rebecca Smith
Bay Street 45
129 47 Hagersten (but her city is Stockholm)

So if they ask for town or city, should I put Stockholm or Hagersten?

Then it says Place of Birth (Town or City)

Well same problem again, I was born in Stockholm,
but in my birth records etc. it says Huddinge, Stockholm
and in my passport it says only Huddinge, not Stockholm

So what should i put there, should I exclude Stockholm?

I know I know, but I don't want any mistakes to where they will think there are confusing answers, even though it's not! :)

Fromabroadwoman,

Yes, they are very very very very picky... . If your street address is:

1120 Grapejuice Vineyard, Apt J
Huddinge, Sweeden, 1200. The put it as appears on your mail: Street Number 1st, street name and apt,(if you live in one), City, Country name and postal code or zip.

If you were born in Huddinge, then you WRITE Huddinge, NOT SWEDEN. USCIS is interested in knowing which PART OF THE COUNTRY, you were born in in SWEDEN. Imagine, if all people said they were born in the United Kingdom, how will we know who is a Scot or Irish? :D For those who put Sweden, USCIS deal with them harshly....

If you ask Bill Clinton were he was born, then he tells you in the United State, that would be rude wouldn't it be? Of course I know you are American, but which part of the country were you born in? Then we will tell you Arkansas.... or Alaska or New York... whatever...

When we filled out I-130 for me, we decided to put the street name first and then the number for my address in Moscow, because if we put the number and then the street, it wouldn't make any sense - we don't do it like that in my country. We put the street name and then the number - we wrote Vineyard street 100, not 100 Vineyard street. We didn't have any problems with it so far.

I think it's better to write the address the way it is in your passport and on the mail you get - that way USCIS won't be too confused :)

Good luck! :)

Ok BUT...

Well, I wouldn't put Sweden as the city I was born in, Stockholm is the capitol city of Sweden, but Huddinge is an area of Stockholm, and that's how we put it on the mailing address. Like Bayside is the mailing address for somebody who lives in New York, if you live in Bayside area.

So you are saying I should put the number first then the street address although they will see on my birth and marriage record the opposite version?

You can put both. You can write Huddinge, Stockholm. You can put the street name first and then the number. I really don't think they're picky.

I've only heard great things about Stockholm and Sweden, I hope to visit sometime :) The closest I ever got to Sweden was Finland :)

Good luck! :)

Thank you!

Ok I won't sweat it no more now, thank you! :)

Yes, do go to Sweden one day, it's a great country to visit, and I'm also very happy because the consular filing from here is very very quick, it says on the US Embassy of Stockholm's website the entire process takes approx. 8-12 weeks!!! :)
