Hello Everyone,

I became a US citizen in January 2009. I went to Nigeria in Feburary for my wedding. My husband and I got married in June 2009. Now, i am back in the United States to file his petition.

In 2001 my husband wanted to come to the United States to visit his brother that was very ill so he applied for a visa on his application form he put he was married when he wasn't and the name he put down for his spouse was not my name. He can't even remember the name he put.He said he put he was married because he felt it would make them give himthe visitors visa.Although, he stated that the consulate officer didn't look at his documents or application in detail. He said that the moment the officer found out his mum was a permanent resdident in the US, he advised him to apply for an immigrant visa and gave him back all his documents.

We are both scared that the false information he put on his form in 2001 may come up during his interview for his green card. I was thinking of using a lawyer because of this issue.

I will also appreciate it if someone can provide me with a list of documents to send with my I- 130.We don't have any joint bills because we don't leave together in the States.

Please i would appreciate your advise and suggestions.

Thank you

It is very likely that his DS-156 is saved somwwhere, specially seeing it was a US consulate in Nigeria. Whenever he applies for a US again, those older records will be consulated. He is in a spot of bother the way I look at it.

Please i would appreciate your advise and suggestions.
